Tears and Laughter: Tiffany Haddish Reunited with High School Drama Teacher on 'The View'

New York, NY – May 8, 2024  – In a heartwarming moment that quickly went viral, comedian Tiffany Haddish shared an emotional reunion with the teacher who helped her discover her voice on Tuesday's episode of 'The View.'

Haddish, promoting her new book "I Curse You With Joy," spoke about the challenges she faced in her youth. She revealed that she struggled with reading difficulties in high school.  "I was very good at hiding and masking and pretending," Haddish confessed. "And she figured out that I couldn't do it very well."

"She" turned out to be Ms. Greeve, Haddish's high school drama teacher, who was waiting backstage unbeknownst to the comedian.  As the show's co-host Sara Haines offered to find Ms. Greeve if she was still alive, a tearful Haddish exclaimed, "She is!"

The emotional reunion had the audience on their feet as Ms. Greeve joined Haddish on stage.  Haddish expressed her gratitude,  "Thank you so much for being patient with me. Thank you so much for always encouraging me, and taking time with me and listening to me."

Ms. Greeve, visibly touched by the gesture, revealed that Haddish was "always a bright light" in her class.  She added,  "You always had a story to tell."

The internet quickly embraced the heartwarming moment.  #HaddishReunion and #TeacherAppreciationDay trended on Twitter, with many users sharing their own stories of impactful teachers.
